Rights & Permissions

Copyrighted material and permission to film in certain areas or of people is a very serious issue, and not one taken lightly at Lakedance.

You, as the submittor of your entry, are responsible for clearing any and all music rights, visual and audio rights, location agreements, and any other necessary rights for your entry to be displayed for a public audience.

Lakedance will not ask to view any documentation of these unless it is legally necessary to do so or unless there is clear evidence that you may be using copyrighted material without the owner's permission.

Lakedance requires these basic rights to show your entry.

  1. The right to project, show, or broadcast your entry in its entirety within Lakedance Film Festival venues beginning September 5th, 2008 until September 17th, 2008.
  2. The right to use still frames from, trailers, or visual excerpts from your entry for marketing purposes to be used on television, the internet, newspapers, magazines, or any other media deemed necessary for advertising, marketing, or publicity of Lakedance.
  3. Should your entry win an award at Lakedance 2008, the right to project, show, or broadcast your entry in its entirety for one year at "The Very Best of Lakedance" venues beginning September 16th, 2008 until September 16th, 2009.
  4. At no time will Lakedance make your entry in its entirety available for public or private display or download on any website, nor sell your entry on DVD or other medium.
